Community Awareness, Volunteer and Driver Recruitment Event

On June 27, 2009, the Antelope Valley Soap Box Racing Association had an Community Awareness, Volunteer and Driver Recruitment event in Domenic Massari Park in Palmdale, California. The event started at 9AM and ended at 12PM. We passed out a few flyers and we collected information from four people. We will be following-up on the four people to make sure that they still wish to participate. We need to have an informal meeting to critique this last event. We must keep working at this and set a goal for our next racing event. I am thinking late September or Late October.

AVSBRA Board of Directors Meeting

The next Antelope Valley Soap Box Racing Association (AVSBRA) Board of Directors meeting will be Wednesday June 24, 2009 at 6PM at the Quartz Hill Town Center.

AVSBRA Event

On Saturday June 13, 2009, the Antelope Valley Soap Box Racing Association (AVSBRA) had a community awareness and volunteers recruitment event in Marie Kerr Park in Palmdale, California. The AVSBRA is hoping to generate enough interest to start having racing events on a regular bases. We need 50 volunteers to host a racing event. I hope to have 100 volunteers on staff so that each volunteer can select the events he or she can participate in. We also are recruiting Drivers. We are planning to have more of these events in the future and we will be conducting them at different parks. Hope to see you there.

Race Cancelled

The Antelope Valley Soap Box Racing Association sanctioned local Soap Box Derby race on June 10, 2007 in Palmdale, California has been cancelled.

Soap Box Racing Event Cancellation

The Team Rally Race that was to be conducted on April 14, 2007 has been cancelled. The reason is that we had only two teams that wanted to participate. I hope that we can get more teams involved in the Team Rally Racing Program so that we can have another race. I encourage all Church Youth Groups (example; Oneighty, Royal Rangers, etc), Youth Organizations (example; Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, YMCA, Young Marines, Civil Air Patrol, Sea Cadets, etc), Schools and Businesses to form a team of 5 drivers, purchase a car, the team must build the car and enter your car in the next Team Rally Race. I hope to see you at our next Team Rally Race.
